1. Who We Are
ReceiptNudge is operated by Aura Bionics Inc., a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada. Aura Bionics Inc. serves as the data controller under GDPR, UK GDPR, and equivalent privacy laws where applicable.

2. Information We Collect
Stored on your device:
- A random app user ID generated on first launch
- Receipt images you capture or import, kept locally
- Parsed receipt data: store, date, total, item names, tags, categories, OCR text, AI summary, bought-for and occasion notes
- Return, warranty, and price-match deadlines you accept or edit
- Notification preferences for return, warranty, and price drop reminders
- App settings: theme, currency, country
Sent to our servers only when needed:
- Subscription entitlement status verified through the Apple App Store, to unlock Pro features
- Crash diagnostics and anonymous performance reports through Apple system reporting
- Email content you send through the support form on this site
Not sent anywhere:
- The receipt images themselves
- OCR text and parsed receipt content
- Item names, prices, tags, and personal notes
Receipt content stays on your device. OCR runs on-device using Apple Vision. Search runs on-device against the local index.
Subscriptions:
Subscription purchases, renewals, refunds, and entitlement status are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. ReceiptNudge receives only the subscription status required to unlock Pro features on your device.
Support:
If you contact support, we collect your name, email address, topic, and message content only to respond to your request.
3. What We Do Not Collect
ReceiptNudge does not collect:
- Your name, unless you voluntarily provide it in a support request
- Your phone number
- Your contacts
- Your email address, except when you voluntarily contact support
- Your social network credentials
- Precise location data
- Advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking
- Biometric data
- Your private browsing history
- The content of your receipts
4. How Data Is Used
We use data to:
- Recognize receipt text on your device with Apple Vision
- Compute per-retailer return windows and warranty deadlines
- Surface possible savings when an item's market price drops inside the retailer's price-match window
- Verify your App Store subscription entitlement
- Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve reliability
- Respond to support requests
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, resale, or ad profiling.
5. Permissions ReceiptNudge Uses
Camera:
The camera is used to capture paper receipts. Captured images are saved to your device's ReceiptNudge storage. They are not uploaded unless you explicitly choose to share or export them.
Photo library:
You can import an existing receipt image. ReceiptNudge reads only the image you select.
Notifications:
Notifications are optional. If enabled, they are used to remind you about expiring return windows, warranties ending soon, and possible post-purchase price drops. You can disable notifications anytime in iOS Settings.
6. Sub-Processors
We use the following service providers to operate ReceiptNudge:

We do not sell, rent, or share your information for advertising. We may share information if required by law, court order, or valid legal process.
7. International Data Transfers
Aura Bionics Inc. is based in Canada. Some of our service providers are based in the United States or operate global infrastructure.
For users in the EU/EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, international transfers are safeguarded using appropriate legal mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards where required by law.
8. Legal Basis for Processing
For users in regions where GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we process data based on the following legal bases:
Performance of contract: To provide the receipt memory, search, return reminder, warranty, and price drop services you request.
Legitimate interests: To operate the app, fix bugs, prevent abuse, secure our systems, and improve reliability.
Consent: For optional notifications and any other feature that requires consent.
Legal obligations: To comply with applicable tax, accounting, App Store, or legal requirements.
9. Data Retention

10. Age Requirements
ReceiptNudge is intended for adult use.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
If you believe someone under 13 has used ReceiptNudge and submitted personal information, contact us at support@aurabionics.com and we will take appropriate action.
11. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request data portability
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
You can review and delete individual receipts directly in the app.
You can request full account deletion by emailing support@aurabionics.com.
Because ReceiptNudge does not require an email and password account, we may ask for your in-app user ID, purchase details, or other information needed to locate your data.
We aim to respond to deletion and privacy requests within 30 days.
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID settings. Deleting app data does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription.
12. EU, UK, and California Users
Residents of the EU/EEA, United Kingdom, and California may have additional privacy rights, including:
- Right to access
- Right to rectification
- Right to erasure
- Right to restrict or object to processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights
- Right to lodge complaints with local data protection authorities
We do not sell personal information.
We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

13. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data.
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all network requests
- Server-side storage of provider API keys, never bundled in the app
- Access controls for backend systems and storage
- Random app user IDs instead of an email and password user database
- Security controls provided by our infrastructure providers
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we discover a security issue that affects your data, we will take appropriate steps consistent with applicable law.
14. Regional Availability and Variability
ReceiptNudge is available in App Store storefronts worldwide. Pricing is localized to your storefront currency. The Service is currently provided in English. Some functionality varies by region:
- Return windows shown by the Service are estimates only; actual eligibility depends on the retailer, region, country, item category, and condition. Always verify with the retailer.
- Warranty deadlines are best-effort defaults by category. Actual warranty terms are set by the manufacturer and may differ by country.
- Price Drop Alerts and periodic market-price checks are available only for supported retailers and may not work in every country. Coverage may change without notice.
- Retailer-specific policy links may target the retailer's US site by default. Verify the policy applicable to your country directly with the retailer.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above.
If changes are significant, we may notify users in the app or through another appropriate method before the changes take effect.
